Background
Kevin Cole has been a Pearland resident since 1977, when he moved to the area with his family. He graduated from Pearland High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing with a minor in Public Relations from Texas Tech University in 1988.
Cole's involvement in local government spans more than three decades. He first served as a commissioner on the Pearland Planning and Zoning Commission in 1994, then as a member of Pearland City Council from 1995 to 1998. He returned to City Council from 2004 to 2010, before being elected Mayor of Pearland in November 2020. He served as mayor until May 2026.

Mayor of Pearland
Elected in November 2020 and sworn in on November 17, 2020. Promoted the PEAR Plan focused on Protection (public safety and flood mitigation), Economic development and job growth, Accessibility through transportation improvements, and Resource management and fiscal responsibility.
2004–2010
Pearland City Council
Second tenure on City Council. Associated with initiatives including the 2007 bond program, Cowart's Creek diversion and drainage projects, and development planning in the Lower Kirby district.
1995–1998
Pearland City Council
First tenure on City Council, contributing to the city's growth and development during a formative period.

Planning and Zoning Commission
Served as commissioner on the Pearland Planning and Zoning Commission, beginning a long record of public service to the community.
Real Estate Development
Business Career
Outside government, Cole has worked extensively in real estate development as Principal of Jack Enterprises, LLC (previously associated with Cove Matrix Development). His firm has assisted in the development or consulting of more than 9,800 residential lots in the Greater Houston area.
These projects represent approximately $3.9 billion in capital investment across the region, contributing to the growth and expansion of residential communities throughout Greater Houston.

Personal Life
Cole and his wife, Lisa, raised four children in Pearland and have multiple grandchildren. He has been a resident of the city for nearly five decades and remains active in local civic and church activities.
His deep roots in the community inform both his approach to public service and his understanding of the region's growth, infrastructure needs, and residential development opportunities.
